September 1st, Pinocchio...
Every day brings more evidence of the need for a measurable, visual way of acknowledging the act of telling a lie, like the iconic classic Pinocchio. Lying at every level is incredibly out of control. When our elected officials can keep spewing untruths about others at the expense of lifting themselves, defaming those they don’t agree with and attempting to rewrite truth – there should be the immediate reflecting of how dishonest they have been, forcing their bias followers to think before they too repeat the deceits. When we as individuals find ourselves, so consumed with our own story, desires and ambitions, we willingly create and maintain a narrative that destroys relationships – because it is less obvious, a he said/she said scenario, there should be a way to see how misleading, unauthentic those faking are.
There is a difference between intentional and unintentional lies from a lack of information. There are the white lies, based upon pure motives meant to avoid unnecessary hurt. I am not talking about a battle between privacy vs tell all. We are living at a time of some serious lying, and I am starting to think the option is to have it be “as plain as the nose on a face.” We need truth!
Hmmm, liar, liar…day 49!
Thank you if you choose to join the journey. Let's hope it is more fun than tears!
